Key Responsibilities

The Merchandiser will be responsible for:

Stock Management

• Restocking merchandise to maximize sales
• Ensuring shelves are fully stocked at all times
• Monitoring product sell-by dates
• Rotating stock using FIFO principles
• Reporting low, damaged, expired, or out-of-stock items

Merchandising

• Maintaining merchandising displays
• Ensuring products are correctly priced and labelled
• Following store layouts and planograms
• Building and maintaining promotional displays
• Keeping shelves neat and presentable

Customer Service

• Assisting customers with product queries
• Providing friendly and professional service
• Following up on out-of-stock requests
• Resolving customer stock-related concerns

Store Operations

• Assisting with stocktaking
• Loading and off-loading stock
• Back shopping and stock replenishment
• Training and assisting new staff members
• Maintaining housekeeping standards

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

Essential Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Up to 6 months retail experience
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Willingness to work retail hours

Advantageous Requirements

• At least 1 year retail experience
• Knowledge of merchandising standards
• FMCG industry experience
• Product and category knowledge
